Hi. What day do they film the Christmas parade? I am trying to avoid coming that day or weekend. I was looking at second week of December ( dec 11-14) or weekend before thanksgiving. Trying to avoid crowds and the horrid heat. Thanks.

    Hello Shalamar,

Experiencing Walt Disney World, in November and December, during the holidays is something I hope every Guest can do. With resorts and theme parks decked out in boughs of holly, jingle bells chiming around every corner, and holiday treats tempting the young and young at heart, you are sure to have a joyous time. Depending on Mother Nature's mood, temperatures average in the mid 70's during the day and mid 50's during the evenings but there are still chances for some warmer and cooler than average days. While the dates have yet to be released for the 2014 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, typically taping occurs during the first weekend in December, this however is subject to change. Out of your two options, my first choice of visiting would be December 11th- 14th, in my opinion the crowds would be less. But I think you will find the weekend before Thanksgiving will be fine, keeping in mind more Guests will begin arriving as Thanksgiving Day approaches. Either way I am sure you will have a Fa-la-la-la-la La-la-la time.

If I can be of any further pixie dusted assistance feel free to ask and enjoy planning your upcoming stay at Walt Disney World.
