Welcome, Sasha! Thank you for sailing on in to visit with us at
planDisney.
I hate to think of debarkation day on my
Disney Cruise Line vacation at all, but having to think about it before you even board the ship is a bit stressful. Your question has a few things I couldn't really pinpoint when I talked to a Cast Member about your question, but I'll give you the best answer we could come up with.
So, first things first, I am assuming you are coming home from a European cruise, so you may want to reach back out to me if I guessed incorrectly. According to the cast member I spoke with, you should be okay to leave once you have tested. You will be contacted by either text or email - or maybe both - with the results of your test, so you should not have to remain at the cruise port.
There were some words of caution. Depending on the type of transportation you are using, they may ask to see a negative test before you can use the transportation. That would be up to the individual transportation providers to make that determination. Also, you'll want to follow any protocol they have in place at the port, which may change between now and the time you set sail.
The Cast Member also noted that testing results can take up to two hours on
debarkation day, so you don't want to book a return flight too early. Give yourself plenty of time to get off of the ship and get the results in time to check-in at the airport for your flight.
Thank you, Sasha, and I do hope if I've given you advice for the wrong port you'll come back and give me a chance to get you the corrected information for your specific sailing.
