Ahoy, Melinda!
What an EPIC adventure you have planned for April! My family experienced an out-of-this-world Star Wars Day at Sea sailing this past spring, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate your youngling's fifth birthday than onboard the Disney Fantasy during one of these galactic voyages.
Melinda, I'm glad you reached out with this question because I do have some ideas on how to add a little extra pixie dust to your son's birthday. First, you'll want to check out the Gift and Amenities Section on the Disney Cruise Line website for some special offerings that you may want to consider for your stateroom. There are some Star Wars options along with regular Disney-themed selections that will brighten your son's day each time he opens your stateroom door. A Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake is available for purchase (at least seven days prior to sailing) that can be delivered to your stateroom or to dinner on a specified night. Once aboard, stop by Guest Services to pick up a birthday button for your son to wEAR. The cast, crew and other Guests will all want to wish him well so make sure he wEARs it all week long!
I also suggest visiting the Disney Gift Card website to order a customizable Disney Gift Card that can be used to pick out a special souvenir at the gift shops onboard. A visit to the treat shop, Sweet on You is also a fun idea and you can even surprise him by preordering a Darth Vader cupcake to be delivered during dinner one night. He may also like to visit
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to experience a knight package, Captain Mickey makeover, a pirate transformation or the newest addition, a Stars Wars-inspired makeover. Reservations can be made online 75 days prior to embarkation. And he'll love all the Character meet-n-greets with his favorite Disney Pals! I know it will be a birthday to remember!
