My daughters are doing the 10k and my hubby and I are doing the marathon. I'm now concerned about the logistics of the girls, 11 and 13, getting to the race and what happens at the finish. Will we be able to accompany them to the start? Finish?

    Hi Keena!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love to see that y'all are making Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend a family affair and really getting everyone involved and active!

You are most certainly welcome to accompany your girls in the morning as they make their way to the start line for the Walt Disney World 10K. You will find there is a point though that you must present a 10K bib to be able to get past and into the corrals so you can get them majority of the way and then they'll actually enter the corral on their own. After that point they are on a closed course and I really don't think you'll have any need to worry! I'd recommend certainly signing up for runner tracking so you receive alerts as they pass certain points and it'll provide you an estimated completion time. You can cheer them on from the sidelines as they finish the race and likely even watch them cross the finish. Once they actually cross the finish line, everything is completely enclosed to runners and volunteers so they'll receive their medals and snack boxes then be pushed to exit into the family reunion area. Here is where Mom and Dad can be waiting with high fives and hugs to congratulate them on their accomplishment!

Please let me know if you have any other questions and I hope all four of you have truly magical races!
