My daughter will be 12 y/o while at WDW. Some of the "adult" meals are going to be too adventurous for her. Will they allow me to order off the kids menu? Or will they create a toned down meal for her? Hate to have her waste a $40 meal!

Hi, Robert!  It happens often that the kids who are considered "grown ups" for the purposes of dining at Walt Disney World are not quite grown up enough to skip the chicken nuggets and mac and cheese.  We have often asked for our 12 year old to have a kids meal, because sometimes, the adult menu is too sophisticated.

We have also asked for adaptations to adult menu items.  While some things can't be altered, they can usually leave some ingredients off of an entree, or perhaps use butter instead of tomato sauce on pasta.  They have been very accommodating with adult meals, making them more appealing to our kids' maturing taste buds.

    Have a wonderful trip!
