Hello Kirsti,
Celebrating birthdays with the Big Cheese himself is the best! Your daughter will surely feel like a princess spending her special day at the Disneyland Resort.
Be sure to stop by Guest Services and get your princess a free "it's my birthday" button to wear on her special day; Cast Members that see her in the parks will be sure to send her birthday wishes throughout the day.
Disney California Adventure Park is full of excitement and adventure - perfect for a young girl ready to conquer the world like Merida. My entire family
loves Carthay Circle Restaurant. We like to enjoy the
World of Color Dining Package there - I highly recommend this as a special birthday treat to your daughter. Ariel’s Grotto also offers this World of Color Dining Package option if you think she would enjoy an under-the-sea dining atmosphere.
If your daughter loves Disney Princesses, book a late lunch at
Ariel’s Grotto for the Princess Celebration - where Disney Princess are royally announced then circulate the room and greet each table for pictures and autographs with the Guests.
You can also sprinkle some pixie dust on the big day by ordering a personalized birthday cake if you're dining at select table service restaurants. You can call the Disney cake number at (714) 781-3463 to discuss your options. They will need at least 72 hours notice prior to your magical date.
You mentioned a castle reservation, I’m not sure exactly what you meant, but I would love to help you out if I can. Please write me a follow up question with some more details so I can see if I can find an answer for you on that.
Wishing you magic!
~ Lynette
