All my daughter wants for her birthday (Aug. 13th) is to take a trip to Disney, but we are not able to get there until Oct. 12 due to vacation times. Would it be appropriate to still celebrate her birthday? I know it is a couple of months later.

Hi Allen!  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel!  I absolutely love the fact that your daughter wants to visit the "Happiest Place on Earth" for her birthday!  She sounds like a girl after my own heart!  I believe it's very appropriate to still celebrate your daughter's birthday even though you will not be at Walt Disney World on her actual birthday. Many guests visit Walt Disney World for special celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries. For various reasons such as work schedules and school, I have also found that many guests, including myself, need to delay their special vacation or celebrate prior to the "big day." We have never been asked for a specific date when celebrating a special occasion on our Disney vacations.  Be sure to pick up your daughter a birthday celebration button at Guest Relations in any theme park. She will love all the birthday wishes that she will receive by cast members and other guests.  I hope this information helps!  Please don't hesitate to visit me again if you would like suggestions on how to celebrate your daughter's big day or have any other vacation planning questions. Sending pixie-dusted wishes that your daughter has a magical birthday trip, Allen!
    Happy Celebrating,
    Jodie
