Me and my daughter are thinking about doing the Star Wars 5k for the first time and we not sure how to go about doing it. Is there any advice someone could give us like how many days we will need park tickets for or how to book our room we are confused

    Hi Donna!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I think you and you are daughter will have a wondEARful time running in the Star Wars 5K and I'd love to help you start your planning process!

The first thing you are going to want to do is register for the race on runDisney.com. You'll want to click on Events, Star Wars Half Marathon- The Dark Side, then the Registration tab. When you click on Register today! it will take you over to the Active website for registration! To begin planning your trip the next thing I would do is come up with a budget and estimate how much you'd like to spend on your hotel room per night. I'd then give the friendly Cast Members at runDisney a call at 407-939-iRun and they can help you book your hotel or Magic Your Way Vacation Package!

For how many days to spend in the park, I always vote for more days at Walt Disney World, but this is really a personal preference for y'all. With my work schedule, I usually make a long weekend out of my runcations and I'll fly in on the Thursday and out on the Sunday or Monday. Since you'll be doing the Star Wars 5K, I'd try and be in Orlando by early Thursday to give you time to get to the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo and pick up your packet without feeling rushed. You'll then run Friday morning and that'd be a great day to get to the parks early just after y'all finish your run!

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
