Hi there, Thelma!
Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney. Thelma, as a Disney Vacation Club Member for over 22 years, it has added a whole new world to our family trips. It has provided our family affordable vacations of our dreams, year after year, and the Member Extras and benefits have added even more pixie dust to our Membership.
Thelma, I am sorry to say that I don't believe you would be able to download the
Digital Member Card with your daughter's name on it or at all if your name is not on the Membership for a couple of reasons. First, those listed as Members are the only ones who are able to download the Member card and have entitlements to Member Benefits and extras if eligible. Members can name an
Associate on the account who can make reservations and bank Vacation Points. But Associates do not receive a Membership Card nor are they entitled to the privileges of ownership. So, unless your name is also on the deed, there is no way for you to have a Membership Card.
Additionally, the Disney Vacation Club Member - meaning the person(s) whose name is on the deed - typically has their Membership linked to their My Disney Experience account, and from there, the Member can choose the DVC Member Card. This is where the proof of Membership resides for any
Member Extras and benefits for which the Member is eligible. To take advantage of any eligible discounts onsite for shopping and dining, the Member has to show their Digital Member Card and a photo ID, so having a Member Card in your daughter's name wouldn't be honored because you would have to also show proof of ID along with it. For any additional discounts on tickets, tours, events, and experiences, the Member has to be logged into their My Disney Experience account to see any available discounted pricing when purchasing these products.
I know this is not what you hoped to hear, Thelma. If you have any further questions about your Membership, your daughter can call
Member Services who can look into the specific account and provide more detailed information.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Keri
