My daughter and I will be running the 10K and half for the tinker bell race weekend in May 2017. We. Have run in 3 Disney Princess weekend races. We know nothing about Disney Land. Where does the races start (i.e. Epcot Center at Disney World) ?

    Hi Kelly!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so excited for you to experience a runDisney event at Disneyland Resort! There is just something special about feeling like you are walking in Walt Disney's footsteps.

In my experience, races at Disneyland Resort have always started on Disneyland Drive. This map of Disneyland Resort shows how it runs through the middle of the Downtown Disney District, between the Lego Store and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. The difference I have seen from race to race is whether you take off northbound or southbound on this road.

In the past for Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend, they have typically started heading north, but this can change from year to year as the runDisney team creates the course. The courses have not been released yet for Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend 2017. When they are, you will find a link under the Runner Info tab under Courses that will take you to a PDF version of the course for each event!

One of my favorite things about runDisney races at Disneyland Resort is that a majority of participants are able to walk to the start line! I think you'll find it's incredibly convenient. Please let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be sending pixie dust to you and your daughter for a wonderful race!
