I have a daughter who is 7 and never really got into princesses like my 3 y.o. does. I made reservations at Chef Mickey's, who both the girls love. But I feel like I am cheating my 3 y.o. by not going to Cinderella's Castle. Please advise. Thanks.

    Hi Jen,

As a fellow parent, I understand how difficult is can be to balance the needs of different children. However, I really wouldn't worry about this particular decision too much. Here's why:

    - Chef's Mickey's is great fun. It's a crowd pleaser for all ages. You're a wonderful mom for bringing your girls there. You should feel good about that.
    - There are plenty of opportunities to meet princesses elsewhere in the parks. Grab a copy of the free Times Guide as you enter each of the Disney parks. This will detail where and when the princesses will be appearing each day.
    - Your three-year-old likely isn't aware that she's missing anything. YOU know that there is a princess meal in the castle, but it's not visible to guests just walking through the park. She's not going to feel left out.
    - Disney isn't going anywhere. You can plan to bring your family back to WDW in a few years. At that time, the new Fantasyland expansion will be complete. There will be new dining experiences and new princess experiences then. If your youngest is still in a princess phase then, you can revisit the idea of princess dining at that time. Besides, she'll be much more likely to remember the experience when she's a bit older.

Get rid of the guilt. Relax. And have a great time enjoying how much fun your family is having at Walt Disney World.
