Once a MagicBand is linked to a Guest, it does stay with that person forever… but since this band is already linked to your daughter, she can absolutely use it on her trip with her stepmom. The key is making sure both of you can share plans for her in your
My Disney Experience accounts.
Your daughter’s stepmom will just need to connect with you through the
Family & Friends list. She can log into her My Disney Experience account, go to Family & Friends, and choose to add a Guest. She’ll send you an invitation, and once you accept it, she can request access to the Guests you manage... in this case, your daughter. Because you manage her profile, you’ll approve the request on your daughter’s behalf.
If you want to speed things up even more, you can also share your QR Linking Code with her. Just open the My Disney Experience app, tap the three lines in the bottom right corner, then go to Account > My Profile > Show My Linking Code. If you're together in person, she can scan that right from her phone. Once you’re connected, she’ll be able to see your daughter in her plans, make Lightning Lane selections, and include her on dining reservations.
