Hi Matthew,
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you sailed by with your question. We have lots of musical theatre lovers around here, so we wish we could make your daughter's dreams come true!
At the moment, there are typically two tours on select Disney Cruise Line ships, including
Disney Wonder. There is a general 30-minute walking tour open to Guests of all ages that helps orient Guests to the ship so they can make the most of their vacation. While it usually visits the
Walt Disney Theatre, I wouldn't say it is a "backstage" tour. The other tour is the "Art of the Theme Show." This show is reserved for Guests 18 years and older. While exploring the design details of the ship, this tour invites Guests to see the ship through the eyes of Imagineers. It is very interesting! Unfortunately, there is not a tour of the ship's impressive theatre production areas, but I'm sure Cast Members will be happy to answer your daughter's questions. They love sharing the magic!
Both tours are complimentary and usually offered more than once during a sailing. To find the times and locations of the tours, check your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app on embarkation day. When you find the time you would like to join in, select the heart icon next to it and the app will send you a reminder 15 minutes before it begins. If you have questions, stop by the
Guest Services desk.
I wish I had a better option for you, Matthew. I trust that your little thespian will love the superb
Broadway-style entertainment offered on your cruise! I encourage you to arrive at the Walt Disney Theatre early to get the best seats in the house, though every view is great. I hope she is inspired!
Please let us know if you have other questions as you plan for your vacation.
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
