My daughter & her husband can’t use tickets they were given, can she let me use them for other friends? We both have the DL app. Does she need to do this on the app?

    Hi Denise!

Happy to help with your question today. I'm sorry to hear your daughter and her husband aren't able to use the park tickets they were gifted. I hope they are able to find their way to the magic at some other time. Let's take a look at how those tickets can clear a path of pixie dust for you and some friends!

If the tickets are wholly unused, standard theme park tickets, you should be able to link them to your Disneyland account and use them yourself. This means they have never been used to scan into the parks. While you are asked to assign a name to each ticket at the time of purchase, the tickets aren't officially assigned until you scan through the Main Entrance Gates. At that time, a Cast Member will snap a photo of the Guest, which will pop up with each scan and officially link you to that particular ticket. I hope that makes sense! If the tickets are not standard theme park tickets (or you're not sure), I'd recommend calling Guest Services directly to ask any specific questions.

What you'll need to do is link the unused tickets to your Disneyland account, and, you guessed it, it's easiest to do this in the Disneyland Mobile App. Simply head to the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner and select "My Tickets & Passes". On the next screen, you will see a "+" in the top right-hand corner to access "Link Tickets & Passes". You have a few methods for linking - if you are physically with your daughter, you can select "Camera" while she pulls up the tickets in her "My Tickets & Passes" section, and you would simply scan the barcodes. If you are not together, no worries. Your daughter can share the ticket confirmation number underneath the barcode with you, and you will select "Type ID" and manually enter these numbers. Once this is complete, you should see the tickets in "My Tickets & Passes".

Since you are planning to head to the parks with friends, I'd recommend that they link the tickets to their Disneyland App as well. Have them download the Disneyland App, make their own account, and just follow the same steps laid out above to link the tickets. This will just give everyone a bit more freedom to be able to enter and leave the parks on their own. If you are adding Lightning Lane Multi Pass to your tickets, this will allow each member to make selections as a group or as an individual. Everyone can really maximize the magic!

I always like to remind friends that included with the purchase of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass are unlimited digital downloads of all the PhotoPass pictures captured that day. This means, any photo taken with a PhotoPass photographer is yours to keep! It is truly a pixie dusted perk and the perfect way to make those memories unforgettable. And don't forget to ask for a Magic Shot for a little surprise!

Denise, I sure hope this was helpful. If you have any more questions, you know where to find us here at planDisney.

    Magic awaits!
