Hello - My daughter and I are heading to WDW for her 10th bday. We have 5:15 resv, at the Luau at the Polynesian and tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party that same night. I am wondering if the timing is too tight to do both the same night.

    Hi Chris!

I think it sounds like you are planning a fun filled birthday for your daughter! A luau and Christmas party in one night sounds like quite a celebration!

Personally, my 10-yr old has tons of energy and loves to stay up late (yes, even later than mom some days!). Because of this,  we always plan to stay at the holiday parties until closing time at Midnight.

If you're daughter is the same way, then I say go for it! The luau lasts about 2 hours, and the Magic Kingdom is just a quick monorail or boat ride away. With normal timing, this should put you at the party shortly after its official start time of 7pm. You'll have lots of time to enjoy the party offerings before midnight!

And, when you enter the Magic Kingdom, the Christmas carols should be playing on Main Street and the lights will be sparkling. To top off your celebration, your arrival at the Magic Kingdom will be surrounded by a little extra pixie dust too- as it usually "snows" on Main Street during the party. Personally, I think one of the most special aspects of the party is walking into the kingdom with that special ambiance!

Hope you have a wonderful trip and a very Happy Birthday celebration!
