Ahoy, Tracy!
Celebrating a milestone birthday aboard a Disney Cruise ship will be amazing! Our family has cruised both the Eastern and the Western Caribbean Itineraries, and had a fabulous time on both.
If your daughter is anything like my girls, the opportunity to get into the water and interact with the sea life is at the top of the list. For that reason, my daughters prefer the Western Caribbean Itinerary that includes a stop in Grand Cayman. Our favorite port adventure there was the
"Island Tour and Snorkeling with Stingrays". We had the chance to go to the Cayman Islands Turtle Farm and then board a catamaran to the Stingray Sandbar to "play" with the stingrays.
In Cozumel, Mexico, we wanted to see dolphins, so we did the "
Dolphin Push, Pull and Swim" port adventure. We were face to face with graceful dolphins and had some very cool interactions.
When we sailed the Eastern Caribbean, we went to
Coral World Ocean Park in St. Thomas and were able to touch and hold some sea creatures. We also went into a semi-submarine and were taken on an underwater tour and saw some marine life.
In St. Maarten, we got on the
Golden Eagle Catamaran and sailed to a lagoon to snorkel and then anchored near a local beach and enjoyed more snorkeling and playing in the sand.
You really can't go wrong with either itinerary.
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
