Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Grandmom!!
I don't know if this is your first grandbaby, but from what I understand from our parents, being a grandparent is the BEST! My mom says it is like watching a 2.0 version of me, and my husband's parents say the best thing is that you can return the kiddos at the end of the day! Regardless, I can't wait for
your magical adventures with your new little one.
There are so many ways to find out whether your daughter is expecting a baby Mickey or Minnie, and I think a
Character Greeting is a fantastic place to start! One of my favorite meeting places is at
Adventurers Outpost at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. Mickey and Minnie are darling in their Safari gear, and I think being surrounded by lots of baby animals is perfect. When you arrive at the attraction, talk to the attending Cast Member. Make sure to bring a present (maybe a
Baby Simba or
Nala?) that is large enough for the
Disney PhotoPass Photographer to be able to capture the gender as well as the magical moment!
The food at Walt Disney World Resort is my favorite "attraction," so I think anything that involves food would be super fun! Your daughter could have
a cake delivered to a
Character Meal, and then the gender could be written on top of the cake, or when you cut into the cake, it could be pink or blue! I also love the idea of lighting up
T-Rex's ice cave pink or blue.
Balloons are always a fantastic idea, and I think a momentous occasion should be marked with an iconic picture. Have whoever knows the baby's gender buy a bouquet of pink or blue balloons. (Make sure momma doesn't see!) Then head to the
Disney PhotoPass Photographer in front of Cinderella Castle. Turn momma around for the surprise while the photographer captures every moment. She will have a picture that is
Instagram worthy!
Joanne, if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come back. ChEARs to your new addition!
