Hiya, Mary. Thanks for reaching out to me! Let's take a deep breath, channel the spirit of "
Hakuna Matata," and get the answer to your question.
There shouldn't be any need to worry because you have a few options. If you have booked a vacation package (
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room
and theme park tickets purchased together) and have not yet purchased any bands through My Disney Experience, you can do that up to 6 days before your check-in date. To do this, select "
My Plans" in the upper right-hand corner of the Walt Disney World Resort website after logging in, and underneath "Unlock the Magic with MagicBands," click the "Please make your selection" link. On the next page, click the blue "Get Started" button and follow the prompts. Just note that if you're only purchasing a band for your daughter, you must decline bands for all the other Guests in your party and go through the entire checkout process for it to be finalized. If purchased 11 days or more before your trip, they will be mailed to your home. And between 6-10 days, they'll be sent to the
Front Desk for you to pick up upon arrival. That should leave you with very little to worry about for the rest of your days!
If you've already purchased your bands through My Disney Experience, don't worry! You've still got a few alternatives. You can browse the options on the
Disney Store, select one, and, if it will arrive to you in time, order it to your home. You can also have it
delivered to your Disney Resort hotel. If going that route, I recommend having it arrive no sooner than a week before your hotel stay. Just note that a fee is usually charged for items delivered this way to your hotel on your behalf.
Or she can buy a band from the many
merchandise locations around Disney World that sell them, likely even one at the gift shop at your very own Disney Resort hotel. Once your daughter has one of these nifty bands in her possession, she can simply link it to her My Disney Experience account, and she'll be all set to go.
To link her band, she can visit the
linking page, click the "Select" button under "MagicBands," and follow the prompts. Alternatively, she can use my preferred option, which is right on the
My Disney Experience mobile app. Once in the app, tap the 3 horizontal lines (☰) in the bottom-right corner, scroll, select "MagicBands & Cards," tap "Link Your MagicBand or Card," and follow the prompts. Once she has that MagicBand in hand, it's pretty much problem-free from there. Just note that if it's a
MagicBand+, it is recommended that she charge it fully before she uses it so she can take advantage of its interactive features. If she can't, tell her, "Hakuna Matata," since the band will still perform basic tasks like allowing her to tap into the parks, redeem any purchased Lightning Lanes, and charge items back to her Disney Resort hotel room.
See, Mary? There's no need to worry! "Hakuna Matata" really is a problem-free philosophy. If you have any other questions,
I'm here for you!
No worries for the rest of your days,
Matt
