My daughter and her family are staying at Shades of Green 2 nights and then will be joining us and Animal Kingdom Lodge, does DVC have a service to move the luggage from Shades of Green to Kidani Village?

    Hello Mary Ann!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Shades of Green is an Armed Forces Recreation Center serving our nation’s Armed Forces and their families. I have not personally stayed there, but I have stayed at the equivalent resort in Hawaii with my brother-in-law and his family. My husband and I were very impressed with the fact that these resorts are available and offer affordable rates for our military families.

I checked with my fellow Moms Panelists who are part of military families about their experience with this, while staying at Shades of Green. While Disney Vacation Club does provide luggage transfers between Walt Disney World resort hotels, Shades of Green is actually run by the Department of the Defense. Unfortunately, since Shades of Green is not a Disney run resort, luggage transfers are not available to or from that resort. My recommendation would be to have your daughter’s family use a taxi cab to transfer their luggage to Kidani Village. While there is a cost involved, this would be the simplest and fastest method, unless someone in your party has a car.

I hope you and your family have a truly magical vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have other questions while you are planning, please let me know if I can help.

    Have a Disney Day!
