I have a daughter who is an extremely picky eater. She is eight. If we are not using the dining plan, is she allowed to share a meal when dining at a table service restaurant? My plan is to order three meals for my family four. Is this OK?

    Hello James,

Walt Disney World is very generous, with its food proportions, when it comes to settling the rumbly in your tumbly. And for this reason, along with the fact I love food and want to try a variety of dishes, there have been several occasions I have shared a meal or two with my family or friends, at some of the table service restaurants. However, if dining at a table service buffet, such as Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Boma, etc., each Guest will be charged accordingly, unless they are under the age of 3, in which they are free and can share off the plate of an adult.

While my family is adventurous eaters, we are not big eaters and so like to try many different types of foods. The Disney Dining Plan, unless free, does not work for us because of the cost and amount of food provided and offered to Guests, sharing dishes is a better way for my family to budget for the food portion of our Walt Disney World vacation. Guests can decide for themselves what works best for them.

Enjoy your delectable and delicious dining experiences at Walt Disney World and if I can be of any further pixie dusted assistance feel free to ask.

I am a Dreamer who has always believed dreams are meant to be the path to your future. Walt Disney, I believe, felt the same way, "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." Disney has always been proof that endless imagination and the passion to make them come to fruition is possible. I will never be to old for Disney, it is home to all of us Dreamers.
