Hello our daughter will be 21 during our trip. My husband and I really wanted to try the restaurant Takumi-Tei. Seems to be fancy which opens up concern. Would taking her be inappropriate? She’s well behaved but you never know when a toddler fit will occur

Konnichiwa, Rachel! "Udon" even know how much we love getting questions like yours at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Takumi-Tei is Epcot's brand new Signature restaurant, and its name literally translates to mean "house of the artisan." There are five beautifully themed dining rooms here: water, wood, earth, stone, and paper. From everything I've heard, this is a truly authentic experience, during which you'll feel like you've been transported to another part of the world. I listened to a recent podcast with Len Testa, and he claimed it to be "Walt Disney World's second-best restaurant in terms of quality only behind Victoria & Albert's." He also described it as a long, leisurely multi-course meal. For a 21-year-old, I think this would be an exciting and sophisticated dining experience, but for a 21-month-old, the atmosphere might be a little too, "Zen."

Since you're traveling with a toddler, consider hiring an in-room sitter for the evening. Walt Disney World recommends Kid's Nite Out, and I can personally attest that their sitters are reliable and kind. They can be reached at (407) 828-0920, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, 7 days a week.

Another suggestion would be to consider a more kid-friendly restaurant. One of my favorites is Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs. The food is delicious and upscale, but the vibe is lively, and Mouseketeers are definitely welcome. If you'd rather stay in the Parks, Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavillion will offer an exciting dining experience that's part meal, part show.

    Have a fabulous meal, Rachel!
