My daughter is going to Disney World with her class. They are staying on disney property and will be given magic bands. Is there a way for her to attach a credit card to just her magic band even though the school is paying for the room?

Hiya, Leslie! Welcome to planDisney! Your daughter is one lucky girl! How fun to be going on a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with her classmates. I bet she's as excited as Olaf is about warm hugs!

I consulted with some of my planDisney friends whose kids have gone to Walt Disney World for school functions, and they had some great suggestions. So...let's get to planning!

Normally, Guests can assign a different credit card for purchases charged to their reservations via MagicBands, but that usually means a visit to the front desk with the card in hand to put it on file. That may not be the best solution for you in this case. One suggestion I think is a great idea is to give your daughter some Disney Gift Cards to use for her purchases. It's a really easy way to give her a little spending money without worrying about the credit card. A Visa debit card or Apple Pay are also options you might consider, as both are accepted throughout Walt Disney World.

Another thing to keep in mind is that most Walt Disney World quick service restaurants now require Mobile Ordering for meals, both in the Theme Parks and in the Disney Resort hotels. Guests place their orders through My Disney Experience and then pick them up when alerted in the app. So, here's what we suggest for that. Go into your My Disney Experience account and find "My Profile," then look for "Payment Method." If you don't already have a credit card saved there, go ahead and enter the one you want to use. That will set up your credit card as payment for Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World. Then, you can download the My Disney Experience mobile app on your daughter's phone, and log in to it with your account. (It should stay logged in, but you should give her your log-in info just in case she needs it.) When your daughter wants to grab a bite, she'll open the app and follow the prompts to create her Mobile Order. Her food will be charged to the credit card on file, and she can just pick it up when it's ready. Easy as spooning into a Dole Whip on a summer day!

Leslie, I hope this helps your daughter get ready for an amazing adventure at the Walt Disney World Resort! Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions. We're always here to help people worth melting for!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,
