My daughter and I will be arriving to our hotel, on our very first Disney trip, June 18th around 3:00. We have a 5 day park hopper that doesn't include that day. What should we do the rest of the day?

    Hey, Rachael!

I have the perfect idea for you and your princess-Disney Springs! This is how my daughter and I have kicked off many of our Disney vacations, and it's always a great way to get into Disney mode before hitting the parks.

There is SO much to experience at Disney Springs including some fabulous dining options! If you want to make a reservation for a Table Service restaurant, I highly recommend either Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' especially if you want to try some delicious southern cuisine or Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant. I took my daughter to Raglan Road when she was around 11, and she loved the Irish dancers and was even called on stage to dance with them! Both offer yummy desserts, but you may want to save room to visit Sprinkles and get a cupcake from the Cupcake ATM! It's a fun concept especially for tweens. Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza and D-Luxe Burger are my favorite Quick Service options if you want a more casual dining experience.

Disney Springs offers many ways to be entertained including live entertainment, but there is also an AMC Movie Theater and a bowling alley, Splitsville Luxury Lanes. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers princess makeovers for 3 to 12 year olds by Fairy Godmothers-in-Training, and appointments are highly recommended.

Shopping is another way to stay busy when you visit Disney Springs. Some of my daughter's favorite shops include Little MissMatched, World of Disney, Once Upon a Toy, Marketplace Co-op, the Lego Store, the Coca-Cola Store and Uniqlo!

Rachael, all Disney Resort Hotels offer free transportation to Disney Springs so you'll be able to hop on a bus and be over there in no time to officially start your vacation!

    Have a wonderful time!
