Hello Doniell,
Thanks for bringing this great question to planDisney. Great news! Walt Disney World makes accessibility a breeze. Nearly all
attraction queues are designed to be wheelchair-friendly, and the incredible Cast Members will seamlessly take care of your daughter's wheelchair by moving it from boarding to the exit with that signature Disney magic. Their goal is to ensure every guest has a stress-free and magical experience regardless of ability!
And the magic doesn’t stop there.
Disney’s transportation system including buses, the monorail, Disney Skyliner, and watercraft are all designed to accommodate wheelchairs and scooters, making it easy to travel around the "World" with ease.
Speaking of scooters,
ECVs (Electric Conveyance Vehicles) are available for rent at each Disney theme park. When my family traveled with my brother, we used his wheelchair outside the parks but switched to an ECV inside. It gave him more independence and helped reduce fatigue. Something to consider if your daughter isn't used to using a wheelchair for long periods.
Before you arrive, be sure to check out the
My Disney Experience mobile app for helpful accessibility info! Simply tap the three horizontal bars at the bottom right of the home screen, scroll down to Accessibility and Health Services (under Help & Feedback), then select Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. You'll find tons of great details to help you plan ahead!
I hope this info helps, if you have more questions, come on back to planDisney. We love to help!
