I have dated park hopper tickets for Disney World. Do I need to reserve what park I'll be at in order to make a dining reservation at that park? For example, do I need to reserve Epcot on a Thursday to reserve Akershus? Thanks! I book dining tomorrow!

    Hiya, Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney!

It looks like your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is coming up in just a couple of months! How exciting! In my opinion, there’s something extra special about booking dining reservations. Knowing that the trip is 60 days away just makes it feel more real!

It sounds like you’re already well aware that you can book dining reservations 60 days before your visit. You can also make reservations for the entirety of your visit for up to a 10-night stay, if you’re staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel.

It also sounds like you have date-based tickets with the Park Hopper Option. I have great news for you, Jennifer. Guests with date-based tickets do not require Theme Park Reservations to visit the parks or to make dining reservations. This means that when your dining window opens tomorrow morning, you can book dining in any park, resort, or Disney Springs.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a fantastic choice! The options here are delicious, and you’ll get to meet some Disney Princesses during your dining experience. Talk about a magical meal! If I may make some recommendations, I personally also love Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The restaurant is so well themed! Plus, it’s quiet, cool, and dark, which is the perfect break on a hot park day! At EPCOT, I love Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria. The pizza is unreal! Just thinking about it makes me want to go there. And last but certainly not least, Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom. The restaurant is themed to Jungle Cruise, and the Cast Members serving as Skippers bring plenty of jokes and pun-filled fun to your experience!

I hope this answers your question, Jennifer! You’re visiting at a great time. There will be plenty of fun offerings at Walt Disney World this summer. Plus, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad just reopened and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is set to reopen on May 26. Make sure to check those out!

I wish you the best of luck in securing Akershus and any other dining reservations you are hoping for. If you have any other questions as you continue to plan your visit, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at planDisney. We’re always happy to help!

    See you real soon!
