Beverly,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
The holidays are a special time at Walt Disney World! Of course, I think any day that ends in "y" is a special day at Walt Disney World. But the decorations, the atmosphere, and all the pomp and pageantry of the parks makes the holiday season truly special.
While it can seem like decoration changes at Walt Disney World go up, or come down, overnight, the process can take more than a few days. But as a rule, you can plan that the process starts immediately after Halloween and is mostly complete by the end of the first week of November.
Part of why that early November date is pretty solid is that Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party has typically kicked off around one week into November. In 2021 the party was put on hold, but in 2020 the first party was held on November 8th. Since we have seen the return of
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2022, I am hopeful that the Christmas party will return as well.
BONUS TIPBecause of the party in the
Magic Kingdom Park, most people focus their holiday thoughts there. However, if you get the chance be sure to visit
Disney Springs. They really get into the holiday spirit, and while the
Disney's Days of Christmas store is open year-round, it really sparkles during the season.
