When date does Gingerbread house at Grand Floridian close this year?

    Hi Angelo,

Welcome to planDisney! The holidays are epic at Disney World and I try to ensure that I get to see the decorations as often as possible during the holiday season. The Gingerbread House at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is one of my favorite places to get into the holiday spirit.

These fabulous decorations across the theme parks and Resort hotels will start to come down during the first week of January. As you can imagine, this process takes a significant amount of time, so it doesn't happen all at once or overnight. Unfortunately, by the second week of January, all of the decorations and gingerbread displays will have hibernated until the season magically reappears at the end of next year. Disney typically recommends not to expect any holiday decorations after the first of the year because they do not have an officially released schedule of when decorations will disappear.

If you plan to visit after the first week of January, don't worry if the decorations are already down. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa has some fabulous dining and entertainment regardless of the season. The Grand Floridian Cafe is a perfect spot for breakfast before you head to Magic Kingdom. The chicken and waffles are perfection along with everything else we have ordered off the menu. If you are looking for a fun character experience, 1900 Park Fare is the best place to meet your favorite Disney characters while feasting on a buffet!

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
