I have the DAS option for my son with special needs. I was informed I can make up to 3 attraction return times with DAS. How do I do that? What do I need for DAS to apply? I do not see anything online on the tickets.

    Hi Rhythm!

Disney offers a variety of accommodations to help make the parks more accessible for guests with different needs, and it’s great that you’re looking into options for your son. The Disability Access Service (DAS), which may be a good fit for guests who have cognitive or developmental disabilities that make waiting in long lines challenging. However, DAS isn’t guaranteed for everyone and is typically reserved for those who can't wait in a standard queue, even with other accommodations.

To apply for DAS, you'll need to go through an online process. You can head to the Disability Access Service site, where you’ll find information on how to register. The process includes setting up a live video chat with a Cast Member, where you can discuss your son’s specific needs. You may have a pre-arrival conversation as soon as 30 days before your visit. If he qualifies, DAS will be linked to your park tickets, and you'll be able to request return times for attractions during your visit, one at a time, using the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Keep in mind, DAS doesn’t allow you to book rides in advance—it works as more of a return later option based on current wait times. You would choose an experience and then based on the current wait times; you would then be given a return time so that you won’t have to wait in the conventional queue.

Aside from DAS, Disney provides other accessibility accommodations, like accessible entrances, quiet areas, and companion restrooms. If you’re flying blind with the DAS process or just need some extra support while in the park, these options can be helpful too. Be sure to check out the Accessibility Planning Guide & Recommendations before your arrival to make the most out of your trip!

What you're likely thinking of with the "three return times in advance" is Disney’s Lightning Lane MultiPass. Unlike DAS, Lightning Lane is available to anyone and lets you select return times for up to three attractions in advance. It comes at an extra cost, but I think that it is worth it to minimize wait times, especially for high-demand rides. You can purchase this through the My Disney Experience app up to 7 days in advance of your stay if you’re staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel or 3 days in advance of your visit if you are staying offsite.

I hope you and your son have a fantastic time at Disney!
