Hello Melissa!
From all of us at planDisney, we wish you a warm welcome! As a veterinarian and fellow animal lover like yourself, I jumped at the chance to answer your dog related question. In fact, as I type this out, my Golden Retriever Lilo is looking expectantly at me with those big, brown puppy dog eyes that are so hard to resist. Did you know that the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco is holding a special
Disney Cats & Dogs Exhibit that runs until June 2, 2024? You can even submit a picture of your pet for a chance to be featured within the exhibit! Be sure to make it over there if you are in the area!
Oh, how I wish I had a different answer for you, Melissa! The Disneyland Kennel, once known as the Ken-L Land Pet Motel and then the
Disneyland Kennel Club, closed down when the entire Resort shut down in 2020 and did not reopen when the Parks came back in 2021. There have been no formal announcements from Disney on whether or not they are planning to open again. It's such a shame because it looked like such a
fun place to board your pet while enjoying a day at the Parks! It sure beats that shelter from
Lady and the Tramp!
I'm sorry if that's not the answer for which you were hoping. There are several
Good Neighbor Hotels that are labeled as Pet Friendly, so you could give them a call and ask about keeping your dog with them. Of the twenty that are listed, I've had good experiences at
The Viv Hotel,
Sheraton Park Hotel, and
Hyatt Regency Orange County. If you perform an Internet search, I'm sure you'll also find plenty of reputable day boarding facilities for your pet as well.
Melissa, I hope that was helpful for you and that you're able to find some options for your furry family member! If you have any other questions for us before your visit, please write again because you're always welcome at planDisney! Until next time!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
