Hi Moms and Dads! Going for visit #3 Dec 5-10, and was looking into the Fantasmic Dinner Package. Could y'all give me some more info on it, including the VIP Seating? Do you have to have your dinner at a certain time to receive the VIP seating? Thanks!! :)

    Amanda,

So the Fantasmic Dinner Package is a great way to ensure you get a seat at this popular show. But you do have some concessions you have to make for this package.

I have often found that the dining times that are eligible for the package are less than optimal. In making reservations for this October I really wanted to eat at the Hollywood Brown Derby at 5:30pm, then head to the 7:30 pm Fantasmic show. That gave me an hour for my family to eat, then roughly an hour in line. Yes, even with the package you have to stand in line. It turned out that the package was only available for meals starting before 5. We passed on it.

The second issue I just mentioned. Yes, you have a reserved seating section. But you still have to wait in line. And you can still get "shut out" of the show if you arrive too late. Expect at least a 30 minute wait.

The final consideration is where the reserved seating is located. It is not the best seating in the show. It is OK, but not the very best.

For my time, and money, I have never used it. It either has us eating at such an odd hour that it throws off our day, or it simply is not available. My recommendation to you is to try to get it, but if it will throw your day off, simply go the traditional route; eat where you want, when you want, and wait in line with the rest of us.

    Have a magical vacation!
