    Hello Moms and Dads. We will be staying at BLT for 8 days in August. I see fishing gear can be rented for dock fishing. Can my son's and I use our own equipment? Is there a fee to fish if we use our own equipment? Thank you

    Our girls really enjoy the Cane Pole Fishin' on Ol' Man Island at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. An early morning spent with a line in the water is such a fantastic way to begin a day that is sure to be adventure packed.

    The closest dockside finishing location to Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is just a quick boat ride away at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. You are welcome to bring along your own equipment, or you can save the room in your luggage and rent your gear when you purchase your bait at the Bike Barn. There are no permits or fees required to fish along Bay Lake because it is private property, but all fishing at Walt Disney World Resort is catch & release. 

    Another option for the angler is your family is a guided fishing excursion. Two and four hour outings are available and include all of your gear, non-alcoholic beverages, and a one year Bass Anglers Sportsman Society membership! Reservations can be made by calling 407-939-BASS or 407-939-2277.

    Finally, if you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, you are invited to participate in the Disney Vacation Club Largemouth Bass Tournament held on Thursday mornings. This family-friendly fishing tournament departs from Disney's Contemporary Resort and includes breakfast, all tackle and bait, and prizes for the top two teams! Limited boats are available, so definitely call Member Services at 800-800-9800 to reserve your spot.
