Hi Moms and Dads. I read on a website that characters sometimes appear at WDW resort lobbies. However, the website seemed dated so I don't know if I can trust it. Do characters still visit resorts, specifically Animal Kingdom Lodge? Thanks!

Character appearances in the hotel lobbies are VERY rare. There was a temporary experiment many years ago, where characters regularly came to the hotels in the morning (perhaps this is what you were reading about), but now this happens only in unusual circumstances. For example, if extreme weather such as a hurricane were to keep guests at the resorts rather than at the parks, then Disney might send characters to the resorts as entertainment. Unless something highly unexpected happens, you should not expect to see characters at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

You can see characters at some of the hotels as part of a character dining experience, but otherwise you should expect to do all your character interaction at the parks.

    Good luck with your planning.
