Ahoy, Traci!
Thank you for sailing by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this excellent question. I remember being in your boat (pun intended!) a few years ago when I was trying to decided which adventures to choose for our Alaskan sailing on the Disney Wonder. Aren't there some amazing options available? I was glad I started planning early because I definitely went back and forth on a few of my selections.
Times for your excursions will not be available to view until you are able to reserve them once your
online booking window opens up. This window coordinates with how many times you've set sail aboard Disney Cruise Line. If this is your inaugural cruise, you'll book your adventures 75 days before you set sail. Silver Castaway Club members will book 90 days out, Gold members book at 105 days prior to departure while Platinum members reserve 120 days before along with Concierge-level Guests. Reservations must be paid in full to begin this process, and it does open up at midnight EST.
Some of the more popular
Alaskan Port Adventures do sell out, so I strongly recommend having a few options for each port. With that being said, many will offer different start times so you may be able to make your first choices work if you are flexible. We were able to experience two excursions in Ketchikan so you may want to consider more than one. And there is no need to worry about timing issues because the Disney Cruise Line reservation system will not let you book two adventures if there is a possibility of them overlapping.
Good luck with your magical plans, Traci! My best piece of advice for Alaska is to see it as many ways as possible-by land, sea and air and by as many modes of transportation as you can!
