Hi Moms (& Dads). I'm making my 31st trip to WDW - but my first as a parent. I think I can keep my 4yo happy. Any suggestions for what my 2yo might enjoy in MK? What can they do together? What can the 2yo do while her big brother is riding Splash Mount

    Kevin,

The Splash Mountain question is easy.  The Laughin' Place Playground, located under the train station near the exit of Splash Mountain, is the perfect place for your 2 year old to let loose while she waits.  It's very small and there isn't much there, but it has always been surprisingly entertaining for my children and they were always very content there.

What she might enjoy is a little harder to predict.  My personal policy is that my kids ride whatever they are tall enough to ride, which in the Magic Kingdom is almost everything.  They have all been riding Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White, and other 'scary' rides since they were born, and never expressed fear.  However, if your child is easily frightened, you might want to skip those three.

You also might consider measuring her at home so there aren't any disappointments on property.  If she is at least 35 inches tall she can ride Goofy's Barnstormer, a child's first rollercoaster.  I've seen many excited children turned away in tears after they don't meet the height requirement, so that's why I suggest knowing before you get in line.

Finally, don't overlook places that an adult wouldn't normally visit, like Pooh's Playground in Fantasyland, Donald's Boat in Toontown, and Tom Sawyer Island in Frontierland.  These (along with the Tomorrowland Transit Authority) were some of my daughters' favorite places at that age.

    Have a great trip!
