Hi Moms & Dad! Wondering what time I should make dinner reservations at Whispering Canyon Cafe to make the evening fireworks at Epcot?

Let's do this by counting backwards from showtime:

The Epcot Illuminations fireworks show is at 9:00 nightly. (This is subject to change of course, but it's been that way for years.)  What time you really need to be there to get a decent viewing position varies widely depending on the time of year of your visit. During a particularly slow time, you could arrive at 8:55 and be fine. On the 4th of July or Christmas, you'll need to be there 90 minutes in advance. For the sake of argument, lets pick something in the middle, meaning that you want to be in your viewing spot by 8:20, which means you need to be walking into Epcot by about 8:10.

To get to Epcot from the Wilderness Lodge, you'll take a bus. The ride itself is about 20 minutes. And let's say you wait 15 minutes for the bus to arrive. Now you're at 7:35. So, that's what time you need to be done with dinner. How long dinner takes depends a bit on whether you order drinks/appetizers/dessert/etc. but since this a particularly fun and yummy meal, I'll assume that you want to spend an hour there at a minimum, probably more like an hour and fifteen minutes. That puts you at 6:20. I'd make a reservation at the Whispering Canyon at 6:00 or 6:15. You'll have some buffer time in there, but I'm a build-in-buffer-time kinda gal, so that's what would work for me.

Hope you have a great time!
