Hi Moms & Dad. UR GR8! One quick question. We (DH, DS3 and myself) will be traveling to Disney 9/6-9/13. We have the dining plan, room and all tickets paid for. How much should we budget per day for additional snacks, drinks and other "must have

    Hi Tonya,

I am glad you think we r gr8! We try really hard!

I am going to assume you have the Basic Dining Plan which will give you a counter service meal, table service meal and a snack. Your whole family's credits are listed together, and they are used one at a time. So in theory, you are getting 24 counter service meals, 24 table service meals and 24 snacks to use throughout your trip. This gives you flexibility in dining.

If you are like my family, I would be short a meal in theory of which we usually eat breakfast in our room by bringing cereal from home. W e use the counter service for lunch and then table service for dinner on most days.

When you order your counter service meal it comes with a drink and dessert. We usually use this dessert as another snack or we bring snacks from home into the park with us. For the snack portion of the meal plan, you can order most menu items under $4.  So you could get the drink and your husband the popcorn and share.

With this being said, you at least can figure out how much additional food budget you need. For the must haves, I let my children have a budget at the beginning of the trip and we stick to it.

You could safely budget $50 a day and I am sure you would have extra money to bring home with you.

    Have a great trip!
