Hi moms and dad, i love the panel. I was just wondering, my daughter wants to get one of the birnbaum's guide books but i don't know if i should get her the general WDW one or the WDW for kids one. she is 14 and will be 15 when we go. thanks for your help.

    Hi Courtney,

I love the Birnbaum's Guide and even after all of my trips, buy a new one every year. While the Kid's Guide is full of great information on the attractions, shows and parks, it may seem a little kid-ish to a fifteen year old.

My boys still use the Birnbaum's Kids Guide to pick out their favorite list and even reminisce after our trips, but in my opinion the style and format of the book is best for younger children. I think a great age range is approximately five to thirteen. My almost fourteen year old son now prefers the additional information and layout in the "adults" version of the book. The best way to decide is head to your local bookstore and take a look at both versions. You know your daughter and her style of reading and interests. Flip through the pages and see which one looks more like something she would enjoy.

Another great book she may be interested in is The Complete Idiot's Guide to Walt Disney World. The book is a great source of information and breaks everything down into easily understandable explanations. There is a fantastic rating system for each attraction and show based on each different age group. This book offers some fun hidden tips and provides a slightly more in depth view of the property as well as some great planning tips. It is a book both you and her could easily use and enjoy.
