Hi Yasmine! Welcome to planDisney. It sounds like you are looking for ways to help make your visit to the Disneyland Resort a bit more comfortable for you and your father. I am happy to share some accommodations for you and your dad when you both visit the parks.
For your father, Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) and wheelchairs are available to
rent at the mobility rental location. You can find the ECV location in the Esplanade between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, where you could rent an ECV for your father before you both enter the parks. (This will also be the location you return them when you are done for the day.) However, one thing to keep in mind: these rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis. I would recommend arriving just before park opening to help ensure you get your rental.
Also, there are quite a few attraction queues that are accessible and allow Guests to remain in their ECV while waiting in line. (They may still need to transfer to enter the ride vehicle.) Both the Disneyland website and the
Disneyland app include a helpful filter in their attractions pages which lists which queues are ECV accessible. It may be helpful to take a look at which queues are accessible to help you plan your day.
Yasmine, you may want to research the
Disability Access Service (DAS). DAS is intended to support Guests who, due to a developmental disability such as autism or a related condition, may find it challenging to wait in a traditional standby line for extended periods. While it does not provide immediate or front-of-line access, it does offer a return time for attractions, which can allow Guests to take a break or explore while they wait. This allows Guests to spend the wait time elsewhere in the park, rather than remaining in the standby queue.
If you would like to register for DAS before your trip, you can do so through a live video chat with a Cast Member, up to 60 days before you visit. Video chats are generally available daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., although the wait times can vary depending on demand. During the conversation, a Cast Member will discuss your specific needs to determine whether DAS is the most appropriate accommodation. To begin the process, visit the Disability Access Service page on the Disneyland website, review the Terms & Conditions, and select “Request Live Chat” to begin.
Yasmine, I hope this helps you and your father feel more prepared and supported for your visit. With a little planning and the right approach, I hope you'll both be able to enjoy a magical and memorable visit. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at planDisney.
Wishing you a smooth, comfortable visit,
David
