Joann from MI Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I am currently undergoing Chemotherapy for Colon Cancer, but I would like to make a reservation to bring my granddaughters to Disneyland. Since my health is unpredictable, I was wondering what the cancelation policy is for Paradise Pier Hotel?

A warm welcome to you, Joann, and we're so glad that you came to planDisney!

Thank you so much for bringing your question to us. I wanted to acknowledge how sweet you are to be thinking of your granddaughters and treating them with a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! I'm sure they would love to enjoy some quality time with you at the Disneyland Resort. Isn't that what Walt would have wanted when he first envisioned Disneyland while sitting at a park bench in Griffith Park?

If you've made a room only reservation, you will receive a full refund if it is cancelled at least 5 days prior to your arrival date. If it is cancelled less than 5 days out, then this will result in a cancellation fee of the first night's room cost plus taxes and fees.

If you've reserved a Disneyland Resort Vacation Package (hotel and tickets), you will receive a full refund if cancellations are made 30 days or more prior to Guest arrival. For cancellations from 5 to 29 days prior to arrival, you will receive a refund minus a $200 cancellation fee. Any cancellations made 4 days or less prior to arrival are non-refundable.

Please note that they are in the middle of re-imagining the Paradise Pier Hotel into the Pixar Place Hotel and there is active construction occurring during the daytime. You can keep up to date on any changes through the Construction Updates page.

If your doctor has placed you on a special diet, consider contacting within 14 days of your visit after making dining reservations and the Disneyland chefs will do their best to accommodate your needs.

From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely hope you do get to take your granddaughters to the Disneyland Resort next month! Take them for a ride on King Arthur Carrousel as Walt Disney did with his daughters. Enjoy some treats with them at the Food & Wine Festival over at Disney California Adventure. I would highly recommend Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway for families as well!

Fun Fact: The actual park bench upon which Walt Disney sat when he created Disneyland in his mind can be found inside the entrance to The Disneyland Story at Main Street, U.S.A.

Joann, I hope you found this answer helpful and that you are able to visit the Disneyland Resort as planned. If there is anything else I can do to help you plan your visit, please reach out to me again because I'd be happy to help! I want your visit to be as magical as possible!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
