We are currently tying to decide whether to dine at Chef Mickey's or go to Mickey's Backyard BBQ. We have a 7 year old daughter and I'm sure both are great, but need you comments to help determine which would be best.

Hi, Denise!  The big thing that would influence my decision would be how much character interaction you want.  We prefer Chef Mickey's because you actually get to meet the characters and have your pictures taken or your autograph books signed.  At Mickey's Backyard BBQ, you see the characters dancing and performing, but they don't go table to table.

With my family, sometimes food can be an issue.  The selection at Chef Mickey's is a little more extensive, as the all you care to eat buffet seems to cater to even the pickiest eaters.  The food at Mickey's Backyard BBQ is definitely BBQ food!  It's completely delicious, but you'll find barbecue chicken and pork, burgers and hot dogs, and barbecue type side dishes - cole slaw, beans, and salad.

The last thing to consider is location.  If it's a busy day for you, transportation to the Contemporary always seems a little more convenient for me than out to Ft. Wilderness.  On a leisurely day, I love to take the ride out to the Fort, even going a little earlier to explore.

I hope this helps you make your decision!  You can't lose either way, so it all comes down to the type of experience you're hoping to find!
