Sarah, remember when Ursula told us that life is full of tough choices? It sounds like you have a dilemma, but the good news is that you've narrowed things down to two great Walt Disney World Resort hotels. I'd love to give you my two cents!
It's hard to beat the grandeur and beauty of
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. This resort is top notch for its cultural theming, service, and dining. If your idea of a perfect Walt Disney World vacation includes spending some rest and relaxation time at the resort, this is the way to go. It's a destination unto itself with so much to see and do, that sometimes it's hard to leave and go to the Parks! You will need to budget extra travel time for bus transportation; however, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is only minutes away, so if seeing Pandora- The World of Avatar is a priority, keep this in mind. The best Savanna View rooms are on the Arusha Savanna along the Zebra Trail. I'd also recommend dining at either Jiko or Boma, for an authentic African experience.
Disney's Contemporary Resort had held a special place in my heart since my kids were little tykes, because it was the first resort we stayed in as a family, and we've returned many times since. Location is the number one reason Guests choose this resort, and walking to Magic Kingdom Park will undoubtedly be easier with a toddler and stroller in tow- also, Epcot is just a monorail ride away! I love the futuristic vibe of this hotel, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The dining choices here are family favorites- California Grill is a must-do for us every trip. Little Mouseketeers love waving their napkin in the air at Chef Mickey's!
Sarah, because of the convenience, I'd give a slight edge to Disney's Contemporary Resort, but either way, I know you'll have a magical trip!
