We are currently saving for a trip to Disney in 2013 for Thanksgiving. I have noticed that a few reward sites I do offer Disney store giftcards. Is there a way to use these to help pay for our trip? Can they be exchanged for disney dollars or credit?

    Diane,

On my last trip I had not only Disney gift cards, but also some other bank gift cards that I had saved throughout the year. I used them at the front desk of my Disney resort to pay down some of my hotel bill. Because I was charging most of my meals to my room, I was obviously able to use the cards on those too.

Remember one thing, however. If you hand them a gift card, say worth $50, and have them apply all that to your bill, that money is now gone. If you only charge $45, there is no way for them to give you that $5 remainder back. So only transfer money over that you KNOW you are going to spend, or have spent already. I made a few trips during the week, so that I did not risk losing anything.

The process really did not take much time, so I don't think you will find it to be an inconvenience. And that way you don't have to carry them all around into the park with you either!

I am glad to help with any follow up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
