I currently have reservations for the first week of December, all of which were made for 4 people. My nephew and his girlfriend are now joining us. If I can't get a 6 person ressie, can I just show up and will they accommodate 6?

Hi, Mickey!  Did you ever know one of those people who had a Grandpop with all sorts of clever and useful old sayings?  Well, you know one now!

My Grandfather always used to say, "It's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission."  Now, I'm not telling you this is going to work in your favor with Disney dining reservations, but, you may find when you try to change your reservations that you aren't able to book for a party of six.  In that case, you might want to keep your reservation for four, bring your whole party, and see if they can accommodate you.  In many instances, they can.  They might have a cancellation, or they may have a table that will be able to fit your whole party, and they will be able to do something to get your party seated.

If they aren't able to seat you, they can tell you as soon as you check in at the podium.  Or they may tell you that they can accommodate you but at separate tables.  You haven't lost anything for trying, because you weren't able to change the reservation at the outset.

Now, I would keep trying to book the reservation for the right number of people to try and avoid last minute disappointment.  And it's much harder at the tough to get reservation to add people at the last minute - especially without a  lengthy wait.  Keep a backup plan in mind - a list of a couple of restaurants that you know have availability that you can go to if plan A fails.

I will keep my fingers crossed that you are able to get into all the restaurants you want!
