Hi Sara! You have picked my family’s favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort. We have gone three times that exact same week and plan to do so again this year. This weather is fantastic, the crowds are lighter than summer months, and my favorite event is being held, the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. So as they say in New Orleans, Laissez les bons temps rouler - Let the good times roll!
Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort is well suited for adults traveling without children. I stayed at this New Orleans-inspired Resort once with my daughter and could easily see how so many of my friends considered it to be the most romantic of the Moderate Resorts. There are plenty of fountains and the Sassagoula River path is a great place for a nice evening stroll or ride in a horse-drawn carriage. You can even take the Sassagoula River Cruise to Downtown Disney for a fun date night. No matter where your room is located, it is a short walk to the main building and bus transportation to the parks. While there is no table service restaurant at this Resort, Boatwright’s Dining Hall is just a short walk away at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort.
As I mentioned before, the weather is fantastic this time of year, with lots of sunshine and few rainy days as compared to the summer months. On average, the temperature ranges from the 70s to 80s. That being said, I remember our first October/November visit years ago and the high was in the 90s for the first part of the week, and then dropped to the low 60s at the end of the week. Orlando weather is always unpredictable, so check weather.com in the days leading up to your trip so that you’ll be fully prepared.
I hope both of you enjoy your visit this fall. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
