Hi there, Sarah!
Everyone knows that one of the best parts of a vacation to
Walt Disney World is the opportunity to enjoy some of the many wonderful and unique
Disney dining experiences. The good news - no, it's great news! - is that Walt Disney World is truly one of the most accommodating vacation destinations I've ever traveled to when it comes to special dietary needs.
To start with, you'll find most restaurants now offer menus for
special dietary concerns. Even the quick service dining locations (counter service meals) have gluten free buns for burgers and gluten free chicken nuggets. You just have to ask when you get there what they have, and they'll go over it with you or give you the menu options.
At the table service dining locations, including the buffet meals (many of which are character dining experiences), you'll be greeted by a member of the culinary staff. They're so helpful in going over the menu with you and can talk to you about foods which are already gluten free or can be adapted to suit your needs.
The big thing is communication. Note special dietary restrictions on any of your dining reservations, and when you are seated, notify your server of your concerns. If for any reason you feel uncomfortable about having options, you can reach out to Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com at least 14 days prior to your arrival.
Rest assured, you will find an abundance of delicious food for both you and your daughter. Even on the
Disney Dining Plan, you'll find something satisfying when you've got a rumbly in your tumbly.
Enjoy your vacation!
Anna
