Currently I have the Pixie pass and I love it. If I upgrade now to Pirate pass, and in a year when it’s time to renew I decide I want to have the Pixie pass again, will I be able to do that? Or will I only be allowed to renew at Pirate level?

Hiya, Mauricio, and welcome to planDisney! You and I are on the same page because I have a  Disney Pixie Dust Pass and am considering upgrading to the Disney Pirate Pass. I hope you're enjoying your Annual Pass as much as I am! I especially like having the Park Hopper Option, and the restaurant discounts are divine. I'm not sure why I waited so long to get an Annual Pass, but now I'm hooked!

I chatted with a friendly Cast Member about upgrades, and he said to be sure you understand that if you upgrade to the Pirate Pass now, your expiration date will remain the same. You will pay the difference in cost regardless of how long you'll have before that expiration date. For example, my Pixie Dust Pass expires at the end of October, so if I upgrade now, I'd pay the difference in cost with no proration. When my expiration date comes up, I will be able to renew at any pass level above or below the Pirate Pass.

Typically, you can only make these changes within your renewal window of 60 days before your expiration date to 30 days after. But since Annual Pass sales just resumed, you can make changes outside your window, but your original expiration date will remain the same. And remember, you'll get a discount when you renew during your renewal window!

Mauricio, I hope I've answered your questions about Annual Passes. Feel free to call the Annual Passholder Line if you have more questions. And please stop by planDisney anytime! I'd be happy to help out a fellow Floridian!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
