Hello Scot!
It is truly is the most wonderful time of the year, and you’re sure to have a jolly holiday on your upcoming trip! With so many special sights, sounds, and events surrounding
the holidays, you’ll be visiting at what is traditionally the most popular time of year at the Walt Disney World Resort. Because of this, things book well in advance.
When it comes to
Disney Park Pass Reservations the system is not set up to allow you to modify your reservation. You can cancel the reservation you have, and that will allow you to book a different park reservation. You can do this from the My Plans Page of your My Disney Experience Account. Here at planDisney, we are Guests just like you, so while I wish I could, this is not something I can do for you from my home in Indiana.
Unfortunately, as I am looking for you at the
Theme Park Availability Calendar, you may face some challenges if you try to switch your days. Right now, Magic Kingdom is booked for most of the two weeks surrounding Christmas. As it stands now, if you cancel your current reservation at Magic Kingdom, you wouldn’t be able to book it on another day.
You can keep an eye on the calendar to see if more availability opens, and if it does, move quickly to cancel and rebook. If you see availability and choose to try this, don’t cancel your Magic Kingdom reservation first. I would start with canceling your day at Animal Kingdom and booking Magic Kingdom. There is always the chance that you could see availability at Magic Kingdom, cancel Animal Kingdom, and in that minute or so it takes to do that process, someone else could snap up that last Magic Kingdom Reservation. Since Animal Kingdom tends not to book as quickly, you would hopefully still be able to rebook your original reservation at Animal Kingdom. Even though I think it is worthwhile to check back to see if availability opens, with how busy the holidays are, I feel it is unlikely that more availability will be added. But it never hurts to check!
I’m sorry this wasn’t probably the answer you were hoping for. I hope you can still make the most of the current plans you have. Wishing you a very merry holiday and a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
