Charlotte from Hants Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We currently do not have any trips booked but can you tell me if you can book Lyfts, Ubers or Minnie Vans in advance from an airport in California to the resort and hotels? Many thanks.

Hello there, Charlotte, and welcome back to planDisney!

It's a pleasure to hear from you again! You know, when I'm not actively planning my next Disney excursion, you'll usually find me daydreaming about my next Disney excursion, so let's daydream together for a bit here!

Imagine that you've just landed in one of Southern California's airports. It was a long but uneventful flight. You're excited to check in to your Disneyland Resort Hotel and begin enjoying its amenities (or even sneak into one of the Parks if there's enough time!). You know the jet lag will hit soon, but the adrenaline surge when you see the "Disneyland" sign will hold you through for several more hours. First, though, you have to get yourself and all your bags there! What's a savvy traveler to do?

Thankfully, Disneyland publishes a page assisting tourists who are looking to travel from one of the local area airports to the Disneyland Resort. Unfortunately, Minnie Vans are not a thing at the Disneyland Resort. It is a branch of service from Lyft that is exclusive to the Walt Disney World Resort. Now that the bad news is out of the way, you've still got Karmel Shuttle, Lyft, and Uber Rideshare services as viable options.

To directly respond to your question, the Lyft App will allow you to schedule a ride up to 30 days in advance. Just select the Schedule option within the app. Similarly, the Uber App offers a feature called Uber Reserve, which allows you to pre-book a trip up to 90 days in advance. However, as long as you've got the apps already downloaded, I've had no issues just calling for a ride when I have all my bags. I've found that the unpredictability of flight arrival times, retrieving luggage, and then finding the rideshare pickup area can vary your arrival times tremendously. Perhaps this is something better suited for your return trip to the airport? But wait, we don't want to be thinking about the end of the trip already, right??

You've checked in to your Hotel, settled into your room, and now make your way out to the Esplanade, first walking through the Downtown Disney District to soak up some ambiance. You see a shirt through the window of World of Disney that catches your eye and you vow to take it home with it as a souvenir. The Monorail trundles by overhead, sounding its instantly recognizable air horn. You have arrived! You suppress a thrill of excitement as you scan your ticket at the Main Entrance Gate and look up to see the iconic floral Mickey...

Charlotte, I hope that this response was helpful for you and it was a pleasure daydreaming about a Disneyland Resort vacation. If you have any more questions, please feel free to return anytime. You're always welcome at planDisney and we'd love to hear from you again! Until next time!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
