Welcome aboard, Samantha! Isn't it so much fun to plan a Disney Cruise Line vacation? For me, planning is half the fun, as I dream about the activities, Port Adventures, and pure Disney fun we'll enjoy onboard! Of course, it's even better to actually be on the ship soaking in all the magic, but until then, I am happy to plan away!
My family and I have booked our flights ourselves and have also let Disney take care of the details, and have been very happy both ways. Depending on your level of flexibility, you may find a great deal online that you want to book for your flight, and if so, hop on it! However, it doesn't hurt to give the agents at Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532 to price out some flights with them as well. Pricing can really vary, as flight costs change so often. If you'd prefer to just let Disney take care of it, it sure does make it easy! Check out the details on the
Disney Cruise Line Air Program page of their website. You'll see that there are some extra perks to booking with them!
Either way, be sure to consider the
Ground Transfers from the airport to the cruise port if you're flying in the same day as the sailing, and then back to the airport after your cruise. We always let Disney do the driving so we can simply show up, enjoy a relaxing ride to the port, while our luggage heads there straight from the plane, and we see if later in our stateroom onboard. It's super easy. My kids consider it part of the fun, as they love to kick back on the motorcoach to watch the classic Disney cartoons and cruise videos while we make our way to the port. Before we know it, we're pulling up to the ship to start our cruise!
Have fun planning and please stop back with any other questions before you set sail, Samantha. We're happy to help!
