I currently have an inspire magic key that expires at the end of the month. Can I buy a new inspire key before my magic key expires because I don’t not plan on going to the park until August.

Hi Anne! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

I hope you've been enjoying your year of increased access to the magic of the parks, great discounts, and fun perks! As a Magic Key holder, I really appreciate the dining discounts. We love to enjoy a good meal at one of the delicious dining locations in the parks. I just celebrated my birthday at Carthay Circle Restaurant on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Park, which was a real treat! I never skip the White Cheddar Parker House Rolls! What's your favorite part of being a Magic Key holder?

Since you're interested in continuing as a Magic Key holder, you have a couple of choices. First, you can renew your Magic Key once you're within your 30-day renewal window. With this option, you'll keep the same expiration date. Since you're not planning on visiting the parks until later this summer, however, you might want a new expiration date to get more out of your year of access. If so, you can let your current Magic Key expire. After it has expired, you can purchase a new Magic Key. That Magic Key's expiration date will be set once you've activated it by scanning into the parks for the first time. For example, if you purchase in June but don't visit until August, your expiration date will be in August.

Just be aware that while the Inspire Magic Key is currently available for new sales, it's possible it could close prior to your current Magic Key expiring, which means the Inspire would only be available for renewal. Magic Keys are popular with Guests because of their great benefits, and they sometimes close for new sales, so that's a chance you take. It's up to you to decide what's best!

Also, you'll want to make sure you're selecting the correct Magic Key for your needs. Be sure you've read through the benefits and terms associated with the Inspire Magic Key. They may have changed since your last purchase. Blockout dates are especially important to verify, so you know you're getting the right shiny new Magic Key, because, according to current terms and conditions, Magic Keys are not transferable or refundable.

    I hope this helps!
